Looking forward to an amazing year for camp in 2012!
Camp Families,
As I was bringing in the new year last night I was talking to a friend who said “remember when we were partying like it was 1999 and then we jumped right into stock piling for what might happen in Y2K?” It is amazing how time flies and now that it is January 1 in no time it will be June 8th and staff will be arriving for staff training to prepare for all of you! Below are 12 things we are looking forward to in this year. One quick reminder, Day Camp registration opens February 1st and will be limited to the first 30 campers. All resident camp sessions at the beach are open for registration with many session nearly full! Don’t miss out on the PS with an offer just for you!
Here we go; 12 things we are looking forward to in 2012……
12. International Staff from Angola, Turkey, South Africa, Australia, England, Czech Republic and Mexico!
11. Another summer to get people of all ages out in nature whether in the city at day camp, at the beach at resident camp or on the road at travel camp!
10. Singing crazy camp songs that get stuck in our heads and hopefully getting those all recorded on a CD to sale in the camp store this summer!
9. Totally tubular day camp themes all with a catchy 80’s song title-you have to read them: http://www.ywca-pdx.org/campwestwind/day-camp.html
8. A second year of Father Child Camp that is longer and promises to be a great time for dads and their kids!
7. Providing campers and experience of a lifetime that doesn’t need a power button or screen!
6. Growing our Century Partners-People who are committed to giving to camp on a monthly basis to ensure its long term sustainability! Wanna join? Email us for information.
5. A great group “Friends of Camp Advisory Board” with 16 amazing people who are passionate about camp and willing to give their time to make camp even better!
4. Welcoming back the Teen Intern program for high schoolers who want to volunteer a session or two at day camp and/or resident camp!
3. A website that has been updated, changed and a wonderful work in progress: www.ywcapdx.org/campwestwind
2. Celebrating our 75th Birthday as a summer camp with an EPIC birthday party you will not want to miss!
1. Having you, your child and/or your family at Camp Westwind this summer!

PS Register for camp by this Friday January 6th and any new families you refer will earn you a $20 credit at the camp store! This is for resident camp and travel camp only.
